Answers to common questions about using Lagili.
DRAFT FAQ content — pending Amr's review before launch.
Getting started
What is Lagili?
Lagili is a request-based marketplace, currently for car parts and electronics. Instead of searching shop by shop, you post what you need, approved providers near you send competing offers, and you compare them side by side and pick the one that suits you best.
Do I need an account to post a request?
You can start describing what you need without an account, and Lagili prepares your request as you go. You'll be asked to sign in or create a free account when you post it, so offers and messages from providers can reach you.
Which areas does Lagili serve?
Lagili currently operates in Jordan, with more countries planned. The app only shows the categories and providers that are active in your country, and your requests are only visible to providers in your country.
Which languages does the app support?
Arabic, English, and French, with a full right-to-left layout in Arabic. You can switch language anytime from Settings → Language; the choices shown depend on your country.
Does Lagili charge fees or handle payments?
No. Lagili does not process payments — the price, payment, and delivery are arranged directly between you and the provider, usually in the in-app chat after you receive an offer.
Posting a request
How do I describe what I need?
Type a short description in plain language — for example "front brake pads for a 2020 Toyota Corolla" or "iPhone 13 screen". Lagili automatically detects the category and fills in details like make, model, and year for you to review and correct before posting.
Can I post with a photo instead of typing?
Yes, when photo requests are enabled — take or upload a photo of the part or item, and Lagili reads it and fills in the details the same way as a typed description. You can also attach photos to any request to help providers see exactly what you need.
Why is a location required?
Your request's location is how Lagili finds providers near you and shows you how far away each offer comes from. You can save a draft without a location, but you must drop a pin on the map before the request can go live.
What is the search area?
You choose a radius around your location — only providers whose store falls inside it are matched with your request. Choose "anywhere" to reach every matching provider in your country.
How long does my request stay open?
You pick a deadline when posting — 1, 3, 7, or 14 days. Providers see it, and it's when offers stop coming in. You can extend the deadline a limited number of times from the request page. A request that receives no offers expires automatically at its deadline.
What does "Allow providers to offer alternatives" mean?
When it's on (the default), a provider may propose a different value for one of your specs — for example another brand, or a used part instead of new. Every difference is clearly flagged on the offer, field by field, so you always see exactly what changed. Turn it off to receive only offers that match your specs.
Can I edit or cancel a request after posting?
You can edit a request while it's open — though its location can't be removed while it's live. You can also cancel it at any point before completion; cancelling is final, so if you need the item later you'll post a new request.
Receiving & comparing offers
Who sees my request?
Approved providers in your country who serve your request's category, whose store is inside your search area, and whose stock matches what you're asking for (based on filters they set, like the car makes they carry). Your request is never shown outside your country.
What's inside an offer?
Each offer includes a price in your currency, an availability date, the provider's rating and distance from you, optional notes and photos, and the provider's answers to your request's detail fields.
How do I compare offers?
Offers sit side by side and can be sorted by price, distance, rating, or newest. The lowest-priced active offer carries a "Best value" badge, and offers that just arrived are marked as new.
What do the field markers on an offer mean?
For each detail on your request, the offer shows whether the provider matches your spec, differs from it (their alternative is shown right next to what you asked for), or fills in a detail you left blank. Nothing is changed silently — every difference is visible per field.
What if a provider withdraws their offer?
The offer leaves your comparison, and you're notified if you had already viewed it. A provider who withdraws can't submit another offer on the same request.
Chat, choosing a winner & reviews
How does chat work?
Every offer has its own chat thread with that provider. Chat opens once the offer arrives and stays available while the offer is active — including after you select it as the winner. Chat closes for offers that are declined, withdrawn, or expired.
What happens when I select an offer?
The offer you choose is marked as selected and all other offers are automatically declined. Your request moves to "Waiting for you", and you continue in chat with the winning provider to arrange payment and handover directly.
When do I mark a request as completed?
After the deal is done — you received the item and settled with the provider. Marking it completed closes the request and unlocks the option to review the provider.
How do reviews work?
You can leave one review per completed request, rating the provider you selected. Reviews update the provider's public rating, which other customers see on their future offers.
Becoming a provider
How do I become a provider?
Apply from Settings: fill in your business details, pin your store's location on the map, choose the categories you serve, and accept the provider terms. Our team reviews every application — typically within 1–3 business days — and you'll be notified of the decision.
Why is my application still pending?
Applications are reviewed manually by our team. If it's been more than a few business days, send us a message from the form below and we'll look into it.
How do provider categories work?
Selecting a category covers everything under it — choosing "Car Parts" means you see requests for every kind of car part. You can then refine your matches with filters, for example the car makes you carry, so your feed only shows requests you can actually serve.
Does my store location limit what I see?
Your store is a fixed point on the map. Customers choose a search area for each request — you only see requests whose area includes your store, plus requests with no area limit. Customers also see how far your store is on every offer you send.
Can my team use one provider account?
Yes. As the owner you can invite teammates by the exact email or phone of their existing Lagili account. Team members can browse the feed, send offers, and chat on behalf of the business, while editing the business profile and managing the team stay owner-only. Ownership can also be transferred to a teammate, confirmed with a verification code.
Selling as a provider
How does the request feed work?
The feed shows open requests in your country that match your categories, your filters, and the customer's search area. You're also notified when a new matching request is posted.
How do I submit an offer?
Open a request from the feed and send your price, availability date, and optional notes and photos. If the request has detail fields, you can confirm them, fill in blanks, or — when the customer allows alternatives — propose a different value, which is shown to the customer clearly marked. One offer per request.
What do offer statuses mean?
Submitted — sent but not yet seen. Viewed — the customer opened it. Selected — you won; the customer will continue with you in chat. Rejected — the customer chose another offer. Withdrawn — you pulled the offer back. Expired — the request ended without a selection.
Can I edit or withdraw my offer?
You can update your offer while it's still in play. You can also withdraw it — but withdrawal is final: you can't send a second offer on the same request.
When can I chat with the customer?
Each offer has its own chat thread, available from the moment you submit the offer and for as long as it stays active — including after the customer selects it. Customers see your business identity, not personal team-member names.
Notifications
What will Lagili notify me about?
As a customer: new offers, chat messages, and updates on your requests such as deadline reminders. As a provider: new matching requests, chat messages, and the customer's decision on your offers. Plus important account and security notices.
Where do notifications arrive?
In the app and as push notifications, plus email and WhatsApp or SMS for the updates that matter most.
Can I control which notifications I get?
Yes — go to Settings → Notifications to mute groups of notifications or set quiet hours. Account and security notices always come through, for your protection.
Account & security
How do I see where I'm signed in?
Settings → Security lists every device with an active session. You can sign out any device remotely — it loses access immediately.
How do I change my password?
From Settings → Security. We first confirm it's really you with a verification code sent to your email or phone, then you set the new password.
I forgot my password — what do I do?
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen — we'll send a reset code to your email or phone. After the reset, all other devices are signed out for safety.
Who can see my contact details?
Your phone and email are never public. Providers reach you only through the in-app chat, and a provider's phone and WhatsApp become visible to you once you select their offer, so you can complete the deal.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. We confirm with a verification code before permanently closing your account, and you're signed out of all devices.
